Case Study
Oshdy Management System
Digitizing Catering Operations Across Web, Mobile, and Desktop Oshdy Management System is a multi-platform solution developed for Oshdy Event Catering Services to transform manual catering operations into a connected digital workflow. The system combines a promotional website, client mobile application, and administrative desktop application, allowing customers and administrators to interact with the same business ecosystem. Platforms: Web · Android · Windows Tech Stack: React · React Native · C#/.NET · Supabase · Firebase Team: 4 Developers
The Problem
Oshdy relied heavily on manual processes. Customer inquiries were handled through social media, while reservations, inventory, worker assignments, scheduling, and financial records depended on physical records and manual coordination. As the number of events increased, this created several challenges: • Difficulty tracking reservations and available dates • Risk of scheduling conflicts • Inefficient equipment and kitchen inventory monitoring • Limited customer access to packages and services • No dedicated digital platform for the business The challenge was not simply to digitize these records, but to create a system that connected the different parts of the catering workflow.
The Solution
We designed the system around three different experiences. Website — Discover A public-facing website where potential customers can explore catering packages, menus, themes, grazing tables, and other services. Mobile App — Book A client application that allows customers to create accounts, check dates, customize packages, make reservations, track booking status, and submit feedback. Desktop App — Manage The administrative application serves as the operational hub of the system. It provides tools for managing: Reservations · Inventory · Equipment · Workers · Event Scheduling · Payroll · Reports · Packages · Menus · Themes All three platforms connect to a centralized backend, allowing information to be shared across the system.
My Contribution
This project was developed collaboratively by a four-person team, where I served as the Lead Developer and Team Leader. My primary responsibilities included: • Developing the desktop management application • Developing the client-facing mobile application • Co-developing the promotional web application • Integrating the applications with the shared backend and database • Leading the team and coordinating development tasks Beyond development, I helped translate the catering business's real-world workflows into connected digital processes, ensuring that reservations, scheduling, inventory, workforce management, and other operations worked together as one system.
Key Challenges
Connecting Multiple Workflows A catering reservation affects more than just the booking itself. It can also involve workers, schedules, equipment, inventory, contracts, and payroll. Designing these features taught me to think about the application as a connected business workflow rather than a collection of independent CRUD modules. Cross-Platform Data Because the project uses web, mobile, and desktop applications, keeping information consistent across different platforms was another important challenge. This highlighted the importance of database design, synchronization, and clearly defining how each application interacts with shared data.
Results
The completed system was evaluated by 20 stakeholders using criteria based on the ISO/IEC 25010 software quality standard. 4.00 / 4.00 Business Owner 3.60 / 4.00 Client / End-Users 2.90 / 4.00 IT Expert Validators The results showed strong acceptance from the business owner and customers while also identifying opportunities for further technical and UI/UX improvements.
What I Learned
This project taught me that software development starts with understanding the problem and workflow, not simply choosing technologies. Building a system for a real business required us to understand how reservations, inventory, workers, scheduling, and customer interactions were connected before translating those processes into software. If I continued developing the project today, I would focus on improving real-time synchronization, UI/UX, notifications, automated reminders, and business analytics.
